What are choice boards?
Choice boards are a table with a selection of project-based homework for the children to choose which tasks they would like to explore. Choice boards incorporate both Kodesh and Chol learning. This will allow the children to engage with the wider curriculum, developing skills, interest and confidence in their skills, as well as giving parents an insight into what the children are learning in school. Which project your child chooses and in which order they do these tasks is completely up to them, the artist and the scientist, the mathematicians and the cooks all have a choice to navigate the projects according to their interests and taste. How they choose to demonstrate their work is completely up to them! Let their creative side go wild!

Where can I find the choice boards?
The choice boards are uploaded on to the school website, under Homework. Look for the tab under Homework called choice boards. You will find the choice boards for each year group for years 2-5.

How often are the choice boards are updated?
The choice boards are updated termly to reflect the topics that the children are learning in school.

How many projects does my child need to do each term?
On each grid there are 9 options, the children have to complete 3 of the choices over the course of a term.

How can I get help, in helping my child with the projects, where do I look for the information?
On the website there is a plethora of resources to help you help your child. Under the homework tab, you will see a section called Home learning area. This area contains lots of links and information to help you help your child gain the help they may need to complete the tasks. For example, there is a cheat sheet of prompts, ideas and conversation starters to help you guide your children through an exhibit at the museum. You will also find lots of fun education al websites to further extend your child in their interest in learning.

How and when is the work handed in? What is done with the work once it is handed in to school?
The projects can be handed in as they are completed. The completed projects will go on to be presented at an end of term exhibition.
