Learning to spell forms an integral part of the English curriculum.
At BSPS, we cover a rigorous spelling system, ensuring that all children can learn and improve their spelling. From now on, you can find your child’s spelling words on the school’s website, in the Homework area. There are two levels of spellings, your child’s teacher will let children know which level they are working at. We have also included some printable sheets to help children learn their spellings. The Spelling Pyramid and Rainbow Words Spelling Challenge sheet may be particularly useful in KS1 and the ‘Look, Say, Cover’ sheet is helpful in KS2. If your child finds spelling challenging, we have included a Spelling Menu of fun learning ideas to make spelling more appealing. The Spelling Menu will not only make your life easier, but also help children retain their spellings.
